Meditation & Its benefit

Meditation is a practice where the person trains attention and awareness to reflect on the mind. Enhancing self-regulation and brain changes through mantras, repetitive breathwork and behavioural patterns.

There is no clear definition of meditation or meditative practice, but the description does appear in several different cultures as practised in different ways. The baseline is still the same: learn a thought process that becomes less disruptive.

The aim? Aid the body and mind. Some of the meditation poses help with muscle pains, posture and mobility.
Some mantras are created to rewire thinking, work on self-harming thoughts, reduce anxiety, reduce stress, aid in depressive episodes, improve focus and sharpen the mind.

The benefits of meditation may not replace the need for medication and therapy, but it's often promoted as an aid for clients during therapy as a mindfulness practice to take care of one's mental health routine.

Group meditation:

In groups, the experience expands, creating a greenhouse in which the collective mindset and overall ambiance nurtures each individual's experiences. Group meditation makes it simpler to maintain a meditative state because the energy of the group helps each person stay centred. Kind of like peer pressure of staying relaxed. It tricks your brain into following a certain mood that is already set by your environment.

Individual Meditation:

This is good for when you want to be in full control. The type of meditation, the time is yours and what to focus on is your full decision but requires previous study and detailed information on what works for you.

Guided 1-1 Meditation:

Guided meditation is perfect for beginners, as instructors can lead the sessions and guide the class, focusing on the fundamentals of meditation and breathwork. It also allows for adjustments based on each individual, depending on how their mind works and where their attention naturally drifts.

Either way you prefer it, our best guide towards this practice is our house meditation and Internal family systems expert Sara. We are starting a meditation class and she also offers personal guided sessions.
